Classical Celebration - NQ Chamber Orchestra

The NQ Chamber Orchestra proudly presents Classical Celebration featuring gifted flautist Jane Linestead backed by an extraordinary orchestral ensemble.

Jane Linstead will perform Haydn’s Concerto in D major plus an exciting contemporary work for Flute and Strings “Colibri (Hummingbird)” by Magalif.

The NQ Chamber Orchestra will also perform two very popular works in the String repertoire including “Eine Kleine Nachtmusik” by Mozart and “Serenade for Strings” by Elgar.

Our Soloist

Graduating with a Bachelor of Music degree, Jane Linstead studied the flute at the Canberra School of Music with David Cubbin and Vernon Hill. Jane has travelled extensively to the UK, Europe and the USA attending & performing at numerous flute master-classes with renowned flute players including Louis Moyse, Peter Lloyd, Alain Marion, Trevor Wye and William Bennett.

Jane’s successful career as a solo concert performer and chamber ensemble performer has been sought after on numerous occasions to perform flute in symphony orchestras and pit orchestras. Previous concerts have included performances for prestigious music evenings and performances recorded for national radio broadcast.

Since moving to Cairns in 2000, Jane has been in demand to perform for high-end corporate functions, special music evenings, weddings & other events throughout the region.

Jane is the leader of Orchid Quartet, is a member of the NQ Chamber Players and a regular guest soloist with the North Queensland Chamber Orchestra.
